In 2018, we spent a month skiing the backcountry in Patagonia. We started in Bariloche, skiing Frey and Cerro Lopaz. We then ventured into Chile in the lakes district and skied Case Blanca, Ozorno and Villarrica. Heading South we skied Cerro Castillo before ending up in El Chalten where we skied Cerro Electrico, Comedor Franceses, Creston, Mosquito Valley and Vespiniani.

In 2015 we set out to travel through Central America on motor bikes. A stupid idea really as we both do not ride motor bikes. 2 years later we can finally see the funny side of the whole adventure.

Great video, watched it 9 years after it was posted still relevant 😁
Likes were at 666. Sorry for ruining that
Thanks. I will tell her. Japan is an amazing place for the outdoors.
I'm amazed by the images, never pictured Japan as a powder-rich country. Also surprised by the many deciduous trees. Soooo pretty with each tiny branch covered. Admiring the smooth dance-like movements of the telemark skiing lady. I tried it a few times for an hour but it takes a lot of strength and balance and I quickly went back to parallel.
I don’t have an answer either! But I’ve been a tele freak for 27 years! Rip it.
Awesome!
WOW. You found a real woman. 😊
Super video!
Do you have the GPS file of your path? I'm going this year but on a different path at some point. The final part, going around the cliffs to Hesteyri looks much more interesting than i expected
Sorry no I don’t. We used old school maps and compass as we normally do. I will try to dig up some meta data on photos.
beautiful climb! inspiring and motivating ,cheers from santiago chile
Cero Torre killer. My favorite backpack trip. Tele even better! The notion lock the heal fix the problem, piss off. I say drop the knee, drop the sport!. If you really want to learn how to ski learn tele, no cheating in the back seat. Walking up and down the mountain, you explained it perfectly. Never give up you killed it! Tele 4 life. Well at least until I can't, then die no reason to live. Who knows who you saw ripping and who changed your life depending on where you were it could be me. Gad you found it. The turn truly is life changing, changed mine in 1995. Mark thank you for the swap of bike parts, leather boots and skis.
Thanks Trent. Loved your post
What a beautiful movie, amazing scenery and shots 👏👏🔥🔥
CHILE IS The real end of the world.
Whyyyyy
Brah, AWESOME video, even 5 years later. I enjoy watching competent backcountry 3 pinnin'. well done. I just got back from 3.5 weeks in the Niseko area and your visuals elicited all kinds of memories. thanks for taking the time to present your trip for others to see.
I just love watching your videos !
Courage and beauty. Grace and transcendence. Another victory for the human spirit. Your struggle is absolutely worth it. You're the reason I telemark. Thank you for making these movies!
Why Telemark? Why ski? Why snowboard? Why do anything? Answer: Because I can, and it's fun.
Esta se ha fumado un porrito o que no para de reir y hablarmientras escala vaya vaya aqui no hay playa
100👍
Gordys hospitality is top quality
Great stuff! Respect !!
I just saw a Gulmarg video from 2021 by an indian guy saying in winter you should book room 2 months ahead if not it would be hard to find a room or you would have to pay a lot.
Awesome video. Inspiring me to go! Is it possible to find a guide easily without having to go with the big trip companies ? Are the guides mainly local ?
You will be able to find a local guide easily. Also if you are there for a while some of the guides have time off between trips and you maybe able to use them then. There is also a lot of terrain to ski without a guide. Go!
Awesome video! I'm trying to plan a patagonia ski trip, and would love some info/suggestions about it! Any chance I could shoot you guys an email?
Sure no worries
Hello Ian. I recommend you look on Instagram for the following backcountry ski guides accounts in the Bariloche and San Martín de los Andes area: - Backcountry Patagonia - Andescross - Volcanes Patagónicos Logística Greetings from Neuquén, Argentina and hope you visit our region soon.
Always, if you have the time. If you have the time then your life is in balance. Congratulations

Old man kelpie here has been camping with me since he was 7 months old. loyal guard dog, wont leave camp unless its ok, always comes when called or whistled to. As much as many ppl will argue, i dont have to chain him. I realise im watching this 18 odd months later, id be curious to see how things have progressed since this was filmed. Blatant plug here, i have a few vids of old man kelps camping on my chan if youre bored. Gleno.
Will have a look at your videos. She is now two and in the bush is rarely on leash. We only carry it if we see a snake etc. She will stick tight to us in the bush all of the time. We have two wedge tail eagles and Lately she is being swooped by them so a lead is handy then. 😂
@@blu112233 Aww grouse!! she has settled a bit and knows her place in the " pack ". Her recall is good by the sounds of that. ask ask enforce seems to work. They are clever and will get it.
did you have to teach him to come back on the whistle or was it more an instinct?
Whistle
Awesome telemark technique on the steepest slopes (east gullies on Feathertop) in the Vic Alps. A mate once described the difference between downhill and telemark as driving a car compared to riding a motorcycle.
That is the best analogy. It is so true
I agree that’s a good analogy. Just one terminology nit-pick however… telemark is a downhill technique. The distinction you’re drawing is between alpine and telemark, both downhill disciplines.
Visited the same areas in the Patagonia summer a few years ago. Great to see someone tele it. You did confirm one suspicion: BC skiing Patagonia is a lot of work! But a beautiful way to see it. Thank you!
your welcome

😂🤣
Good to see you did the nose drip test.
You can train them to come back on dog whistle. I used this technique when i went to outback with my kelpie. Kelpies listen to you much better when they can roam around freely. Also whiste can be heard from really far away.🤞
how do you train them too do this without treats?
@Jesse Ianuali well it really depends on the breed. Usually herding dog breeds like kelpie or border collie, you can start with the toy instead of treat as they like playing with toys over treat and then slowly take it away.
@@junkwon8388 Okay thankyou for that, and by slowly taking it away as in like give the command and if they don’t listen then no toy?
Where did you get your front pouches attached to your pack. I have had trouble finding where to get them.
Lovely :)
Hey, when did you visit this place?
love your videos; have I missed somewhere that you tell us what bindings and skis you're on
Bindings are 22 design and these skis are k2. But now I am on Salomon
@@blu112233 thanks
hi! which date did you made it?
Awsome glamorous
Unbelievable story and cinematography , Hard Die Tele Skiers , hats off !!
You should have XC skied it and then stashed the XC skis after the BHP.

It is called coming up roses by Tangerine. I bought the license from Premium Beat. www.premiumbeat.com/royalty-free-tracks/coming-up-roses.
@@blu112233 Thanks! I climbed in most of those regions and was constantly thinking about how epic it would be to get turns between the El Frey spires or down the glaciers above El Chalten! Really well put together video, you've got a real nac for lifestyle video editing. If you guys are ever in BC I'd be happy to point some fellow tele fools in the right direction!
Thanks. We are thinking of going there in the future fir Heli hiking.
Welcome to my Kashmir. Please visit again.
literally came here to find an answer to the question she brings up at 1:12--and her answer was perfect. a, it was hilarious to me because I can't figure out why anyone would telemark. b, because who gives a shit what I think. she's clearly good at it, enjoys it, and doesn't stress about explaining it to anyone. guess I have my answer.
